Complexed Goddesses and Fake Heroes is a collection of contemporary mythological stories.
Some of the goddesses about whom the stories are written have already appeared as visual representations in various of Ritov's artworks over the years.
Similar to the roles of Canaanite figurines and pagan gods, each mythological story represents a human aspect, symbolizing an existential situation. The mythologies are inspired by Middle Eastern mythology, geography, nature, clothing and spices.
The names of the goddesses are derived from the Hebrew language and also in reference to common values reflected within the three monotheistic religions which grounds religious belief in human cognitive structures. The stories represent psychological layers and have an autobiographical dimension.
